October Ikebana Workshop

On October 17, we will practice the Radiant Style shown on the photo above. Hope to see you there!

Date: Saturday, October 17
Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Fee: $36.50 (Total $40 with $3.50 registration fee)

Place: 619 San Mateo Blvd, Albuquerque, NM 87108 (Same as the September workshop). To get to the main office, go through the black gate under the board that says “Money Concepts,” then, walk through the courtyard. Go through the main door.

What to bring: Please bring a kenzan (pin frog), a large ikebana vase, and flower scissors. Fresh flowers will be provided.

Summer!

桜 Cherry Blossoms

アメリカに長く住んでいるが、未だにこれが桜なのかわからない。携帯で撮っているので、ピンボケして細かいところが見えないが、実際遠くから見ると、花の色はかなり濃いピンク色だ。今日も買い物に行く途中にやたらと色んなところで咲いているのを見かけた。 白いのもちらほら見かけた。
よく見ると、花びらの先が日本の桜のように凹んでいる感じもする。
で、あまり毎年、桜なのかなーそうでないのかなーと悩むのも面倒なので、これからはこれが桜だと思うことにした。日本でみるのはちょと違う、これが、アルバカーキの桜です。
